Fridge Evaporator Cover / Panel: Estimated Price & Replacement Labour Cost

What It Does

The evaporator cover (also called the back panel or freezer liner panel) is the interior plastic panel that conceals the evaporator coils in the freezer compartment. It directs airflow across the coils and protects them from physical contact.

Signs It Needs Replacing

  • Cracked or warped panel causing airflow disruption
  • Panel must be removed for coil or fan access and is damaged in the process
  • Ice forming behind the panel due to poor seal

Estimated Part Price

  • Generic: €20–€55
  • OEM: €45–€130

Estimated Labour Cost

  • 30–60 minutes
  • Labour charge: €45–€90
  • Total repair estimate: €65–€220

DIY Difficulty

Moderate. Requires unscrewing and carefully prying the panel free while disconnecting any attached wiring clips or sensor holders. Reinstall carefully to ensure all clips reseat and airflow channels align correctly.
