What It Does
The drain pan (or drip tray) sits beneath the refrigerator and collects water that drains from the defrost cycle. The heat from the condenser coils and compressor area evaporates this water during normal operation.
Signs It Needs Replacing
- Cracked or broken pan causing water on the floor
- Persistent mould or foul odour from beneath the fridge
- Water not evaporating (pan may be mispositioned or condenser airflow restricted)
